Dishes

I have found that having a little one sure makes life fun! Our little guy loves to be where you are and into what ever it is you are doing. One of his favorite things is to help with the dishes...
This kid cracks me up! He has yet to get up on ours but at my Mom's he helps him self right on up and couldn't be happier!

Happy Halloween

It's safe to say this year has not gone according to plan! For Halloween we were planning on staying home and going to visit a few of our friends to trick or treat. Wednesday a phone call came and Thursday Jeff took me to Mesquite where my mom picked Talon and I up and took us back to Vegas. Lucky for us Jeff came down for the weekend and got to see Talon all dressed up in his costume.
Saturday night we went to my brother's trunk or treat and just hung out for a little bit. Monday we dressed the little guy up again and took him to my Grandparents and Aunts houses.
We then decided we wanted some candy so as my dad put it we "pimped" the kid out for free candy! We went to a neighborhood just around the corner from my parents and it was bumpin'! There were kids everywhere! People had their garages completely decked out, one house had a small little haunted house. Ware wolfs walking the streets, I'm tellin' ya people went ALL out!

See? How fun! Unfortunately the neighborhood was so popular almost everyone was out of candy by 7:00! We still had fun looking at everything and Talon just sat back and enjoyed the show!

Talon is Growing up

This kid is just growing TOO FAST! He is so much fun and brings more joy to our home then we ever thought possible. We finally had a great doctor's appointment, but it makes me sad to know that I couldn't provide for him nutritionally. I quit nursing completely at 8 months, let me tell you, this kid loves his food! He has started to do a ton of things I seriously have a proud mamma moment multiple times a day!

 Stats at 9 Months:
Weight: 19lb 10 oz 35th %
Height: 29 1/4 81% ( I actually think he is closer to 29 1/2 he moved when they were marking)
Head: 46 cm. 70%

At nine months he:
crawls EVERYWHERE (first real moment of crawling was Sept. 4th)
Still only has his bottom two teeth
Will let go and stand on his own
walks around the furniture
walks with you holding his hands (this is new this last week)
Still uses his hands and feet to grab things
Likes to take everything off the table and throw it on the floor
smiles and flaps his arms when he sees us after it's been a while (like when Jeff comes home from work or after a nap)
still crosses his feet when he is in "chill" mode
Is starting to get shy and will bury his head in your shoulder or chest while giving a shy smile (one of my favorite things right now)
He gives high fives
He gives kisses, although a little more stingy on those!
Still LOVES the dog
It likes to talk and bang his hands on the table
It seems like every day there is something new to add.  He is picking up on everything so quick! We sure love this kid and couldn't imagine life without him!

Talon,
I hope you always know how much your Dad and I love you. You have changed our lives in ways we never thought possible. We Celebrated our 2 year anniversary and while we were at the Temple Dad and I were talking about you and how much we enjoy being your parents, and how we couldn't imagine being at this point in our lives without you. I can't tell you enough how much I love you! Watching you learn and grow is an amazing experience. I try and let your explore and get into things as much as possible and even when you get into the mail and scatter it from wall to wall all I can do is look at you and laugh. I'm so grateful you're an innocent little boy and that right now I can shelter you from the harsh realities of the world. Things are rough at this time in your life and although we may lose someone very near and dear to us sometime soon I will cherish the short time you got with her. Your Great Grandma Coache is an amazing person and I promise to tell you all about her when you are older! Thank you for helping so many of us get though these tough times, you keep me going on days I just don't want to. I love you very much little monster!
Love,
Mommy

A little R and R

Jeff and I were able to get a little trip to Cali in right after the 4th of July. We left Talon with my parents for 2 WHOLE nights and went to hit the beach and Six Flags. We started off at the Santa Monica pier and soon after we got there we were ready to move on. So we drove to Malibu and can I just say Malibu kicks New Ports behind! The people there were so much nicer, we even chatted it up with a couple people while we were basically in their million dollar backyards!
The pier
This is probably one of my new favorite pictures of us (Malibu)

Next stop Six Flags. For those of you that don't know, Jeff LOVES six flags. We were lucky enough to go with his sister Karen and her husband Josh. But Jeff made sure to let us all know multiple times that we had to get there early and go straight to X2. We got there probably right as it opened and he about killed us walking running to get in line.
Josh and Karen waiting in line (They had no idea Jeff enjoyed pictures so much.)

I can't remember what ride this was but it was so gross yet cool at the same time! People stuck a penny to the trees with their gum!
We had a great time. And you better believe we were there from open until close! I also survived leaving my little man for not one but TWO nights, but I was more than happy to be home with him again!

6 months

Oh my is he really half a year already? This little guy brings a smile to my face every day. Right after he was born and my mom left I was petrified. I had no idea how I was going to do this all by myself (being that Jeff was in school) and I really didn't think I could. Being his mom is everything I ever expected and then some! It took a couple of months to trust my gut and LOTS of tears but man I wouldn't change any second of being a mom.
Stats:
Height: 28 1/4 inches 95%
Weight: 14.12 8%
Head: 44 centimeters 58%

Talon,
You are growing so fast little man. I forgot to post your milestones at 4 months so I will do that now and then your 6 month. At 4 months you:
You snore
You can hold your own bottle
You watch and reach for whatever I eat or drink
Your hair is growing in
You have been sleeping in your crib for a month now
You love diddy and you smile at him all the time
You have started formula
You are taking 3 naps a day now
I am pretty sure you know who mom and dad are!

At 6 months your now:
Are very independent
You want to grab everything
Everything goes straight to your mouth
You have started solid foods at about 5 1/2 months
I think you may be putting on weight
You only nurse twice a day now and get bottles for the rest
You can sit on your own for a little bit
You figured out how to hold yourself up while standing by holding onto the back of a chair or table
You sleep from about 9:30 to 8:00
You get bored with your toys
Bauer makes you giggle now whenever he is around
Mommy's phone is your favorite toy
You can push up on your arm or knees but not both yet
You sleep with your bum in the air
when you're just sitting on my lap or eating you cross your feet
Best of all you get excited when you see mommy or daddy!

I love your little personality and how quick you are figuring things out. There are so many different sounds you make and you definitely know how to get our attention. I feel like you are constantly changing, we stuck you in a door jumper and you loved it, but like everything else you get bored quick so we have to move on. I'm not sure i'm ready for you to be mobile yet but I know my days are numbered. You are the cutest kid and I love my little guy and Daddy sure loves his Minnie me. We are so lucky to be your parents!
Love,
Mommy

4th of July

The 4th of July is one of my FAVORITE holidays. I love the annual BBQ, the swimming, the fireworks and the home made ice cream. I told Jeff before we got married that the 4th of July was my holiday and unless his family did a big get together and lit fireworks it was going to be spent in Vegas every year. Really I have very few demands but I can't picture summer without the 4th spent the right way (according to me.)
So this year was no different.
Talon took his very first dip in the pool...
We had some yummy food... (This little guy went to town sucking on the watermelon, cute kid!)

 Watched some fireworks...
and it wouldn't be complete with our very first sparkler too!
We had a fun day and lots of firsts for Talon! Can't wait for next year when he is running around with all the other kiddos!

Jeff and the Masters

Back in May, after a LONG year Jeff walked in his graduation. He worked at work all day and about every night after, he was up well past bed time doing homework and going to classes.
Jeff is such a hard worker and we're proud of him for going back to get his Masters! Hopefully it will benefit him and help him reach where he wants to go with his career. So here's to our lovely year and the future we may have!
I'm so happy he's mine and that we are now on to yet another new chapter in our lives!
Can I get a BOO YEAH!!

Talon at 4 months

This post has been a long time coming but with life getting crazy right after his 4 month check up I'm just now getting to posting his stats!
Stats:
Weight: 13.15 pounds 13th percentile
Height: 27 inches 97th percentile
Head: I cant remember the exact but it was in the 40-50th percentile

Talon,
This check up was a rough one for me. When you were born I was determined to nurse you until you were a year old. During the first week it was rough and seriously doubted I would make it another week so, I started setting smaller goals for myself. First it was to make it to your 6 week appointment, then it was to 3 months and right around there I started to feel like I could do it as long as I needed, and then we went to your 4 month appointment and your doctor uttered what sounded like swear words to me... she mentioned supplementing with formula. I do not blame her considering you didn't gain even a pound in two months and she was concerned with your weight. After talking with her she felt as though my milk wasn't fatty enough and probably due to the running I was doing to train for a half marathon. After leaving the appointment I was bound and determined to get my supply back up and pump like crazy to avoid formula, little did I know only hours later this would seem like nothing. The very next day we went to Vegas and you got your first real bottle (after I nursed you) of formula and you sucked it down like it was nothing!
I cannot believe how much joy you bring to our lives. Every day you surprise me and make me laugh more and more. I love waking up to you talking and playing in your crib. You are very active and don't sit still anymore. You also stopped letting me snuggle with you and rock you to sleep. I knew that day would come but though I'd have a little more time. You bring so much fun to our lives and we love you so so much!

You and Scout, Grandma Coache's dog
We gave you a couple puffs just to see what you would do and you made the funniest faces! We can say you didn't enjoy them so much!

We didn't do much for Easter but the Easter Bunny came and he even sent a basket up from Vegas too! Here are a few shots of our little man:
This is his basket from Vegas! Thanks Grandma!
and this is the one the Easter Bunny brought him in Cedar:
Here is he little stud in his Easter outfit and hands that blur in just about every picture now! :)

Valentins Day

I'm finally getting around to posting a few things. May was an AWFUL month and therefore I had not motivation to write about life! For Valentine's Day Jeff got me a night out and had my mom watch Talon. It was scheduled for his spring break and so very needed!
We stayed at the Palms in a beautiful suit...
went to Garduno's for dinner...
and then the Blue Man Group...

We had a blast and I survived my first night away from my little man!

Mommy FAIL

This little guy
along with my keys AND cell phone got locked in my car today. For about 20 minuets. It was traumatic for us both! Can we say BIG mommy fail!?!

It's all down hill from here

With my 20's anyway. I had a fabulous birthday yet again! Talon and I got to go to lunch with Jeff at Costa Vida, then got a surprise visit from my parents. We then went to Pizza Factory for dinner and Jeff was able to meet us after class for dessert.
Jeff spoiled me again by surprising me with a Kindle and an adapter for my car so I can listen to my ipod because we all know how great the music is in this town!
And at the end of the night we snapped this photo and I love it.
It is a perfect snap shot of our lives right now, no bedding, bare walls, trying to get little T to sleep and the dog in the middle! Oh how life changes!

2 months!

Talon my little guy, you are two months old already. I cannot believe how fast it has gone by! You are starting to develop such a personality. Every morning you wake me up with your sweet smile and we have a nice little chat. I love to hear you talk and coo and when you get so excited about things you really get those arms and legs moving! You are growing stronger every day and have pretty good control of your head. I know  you won't be a cuddly baby for much longer so I am content with sitting and holding you as you sleep at least once a day. I have tried putting you in your crib to sleep but the longest you have gone is about an hour. We'll keep working on getting you to like your crib, but as long as you like your bassinet and you don't roll over I think we'll be okay! You had your two month check yesterday and you are growing steady. I was a little worried because lately you don't nurse as long, but i was reassured as we looked at your growth chart. You are a healthy little boy who just eats fast, lucky for mom! Your stats at two months are:
weight: 11 pounds 11 oz.  50 percentile
height: 24 1/2 inches  95 percentile
what can I say we grow them tall and skinny! I am happy to report you do have one little roll on each of your thighs, but i'm not sure you will get too many more! I just love you so much little guy and am so blessed to be your mama!
Some things you have started to do the first two months of your life:
You play with and rub your hair when you are sleepy
You spit out your binky to replace it with your fingers

You hold on to my shirt or fingers while you eat
You stated to rub your eyes when you're sleepy
0-3 month clothes are getting too small!
You have bright blue eyes

You have found you voice and I can't wait to get more sounds from you!
During tummy time you focus on trying to eat the mat/blanket
No matter who has you if you hear my voice you look for me
You have quite the scowl and it makes me laugh
You smile! That first smile melted my heart and they still do!
You kick and coo and move your arms like crazy
You don't love tummy time so much right now

You are such a sweet little boy and we are lucky to be your parents! We love you Talon!

Talon's Blessing Day

This past Sunday we were able to bless our little man. We were blessed to have almost all of our immediate family here and some extended family and friends. Everyone that came had to travel a couple of hours, and on Super bowl Sunday, that just goes to show just how loved Talon is!
Jeff gave an amazing blessing and was glad Talon was so good! We are so blessed to have this little guy in our lives, and for the opportunity to watch him grow.
The stud in the same outfit his dad wore when he was blessed!

Most of the group that was here for Talon
It really was a beautiful day. We have such amazing families that have been more help than we could have asked for. I know I'm one lucky girl to be surrounded by great people and for a husband that is a constant example to me. I'm thankful every day that he is the Father to Talon and my Husband! We're one lucky bunch!
