4th of July

The 4th of July is one of my FAVORITE holidays. I love the annual BBQ, the swimming, the fireworks and the home made ice cream. I told Jeff before we got married that the 4th of July was my holiday and unless his family did a big get together and lit fireworks it was going to be spent in Vegas every year. Really I have very few demands but I can't picture summer without the 4th spent the right way (according to me.)
So this year was no different.
Talon took his very first dip in the pool...
We had some yummy food... (This little guy went to town sucking on the watermelon, cute kid!)

 Watched some fireworks...
and it wouldn't be complete with our very first sparkler too!
We had a fun day and lots of firsts for Talon! Can't wait for next year when he is running around with all the other kiddos!

Jeff and the Masters

Back in May, after a LONG year Jeff walked in his graduation. He worked at work all day and about every night after, he was up well past bed time doing homework and going to classes.
Jeff is such a hard worker and we're proud of him for going back to get his Masters! Hopefully it will benefit him and help him reach where he wants to go with his career. So here's to our lovely year and the future we may have!
I'm so happy he's mine and that we are now on to yet another new chapter in our lives!
Can I get a BOO YEAH!!

Talon at 4 months

This post has been a long time coming but with life getting crazy right after his 4 month check up I'm just now getting to posting his stats!
Stats:
Weight: 13.15 pounds 13th percentile
Height: 27 inches 97th percentile
Head: I cant remember the exact but it was in the 40-50th percentile

Talon,
This check up was a rough one for me. When you were born I was determined to nurse you until you were a year old. During the first week it was rough and seriously doubted I would make it another week so, I started setting smaller goals for myself. First it was to make it to your 6 week appointment, then it was to 3 months and right around there I started to feel like I could do it as long as I needed, and then we went to your 4 month appointment and your doctor uttered what sounded like swear words to me... she mentioned supplementing with formula. I do not blame her considering you didn't gain even a pound in two months and she was concerned with your weight. After talking with her she felt as though my milk wasn't fatty enough and probably due to the running I was doing to train for a half marathon. After leaving the appointment I was bound and determined to get my supply back up and pump like crazy to avoid formula, little did I know only hours later this would seem like nothing. The very next day we went to Vegas and you got your first real bottle (after I nursed you) of formula and you sucked it down like it was nothing!
I cannot believe how much joy you bring to our lives. Every day you surprise me and make me laugh more and more. I love waking up to you talking and playing in your crib. You are very active and don't sit still anymore. You also stopped letting me snuggle with you and rock you to sleep. I knew that day would come but though I'd have a little more time. You bring so much fun to our lives and we love you so so much!

You and Scout, Grandma Coache's dog
We gave you a couple puffs just to see what you would do and you made the funniest faces! We can say you didn't enjoy them so much!
